Looking-glass Self
I decided to do my research for the remainder of the year on Charles Horton Cooley's "Looking-glass self." He coined the term look-glass self in order to show how we as humans: 1. Image how we appear to those around us, 2. Interpret other's reactions, and 3. Develop a self-concept. In other words, how we interpret other's reactions to us frames our feelings and ideas about ourselves. Therefore, self-concept is a life long process.
